The Region of Durham, Housing Services Division is part of the Social Services Department. The office is located at 605 Rossland Rd. E. in Whitby (Regional Headquarters). We have four areas of responsibility: Social Housing Administration funds and monitors social housing providers in Durham Region. This section includes support to both social housing providers and tenants/members. Housing Operations manages the Housing Services portfolio of units for single people, families and seniors across the region. This includes the properties directly owned by the Region. Homelessness Initiatives funds and monitors programs that assist households to obtain housing or to prevent homelessness. This portfolio includes domiciliary hostels and emergency shelters, as well as Housing Outreach and Eviction Prevention programs. It also includes the rent supplement programs.
