Here you will discover our proud history, learn about our vision, mission and values and get the facts about our leading-edge university. UOIT was established by the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Act, 2002. The Act identifies two governing bodies for the university: the UOIT Board of Governors and the UOIT Academic Council. Generally, the Board of Governors is responsible for governing and managing the affairs of the university, and the Academic Council has responsibility for academic matters. UOIT also has a chancellor who is the titular head of the university and confers all degrees on behalf of the university.
