In March of 2018, the Municipality of Clarington shared a press release announcing that the Municipality set a record in construction in 2017. Residential construction value was 3.1% higher than the value in 2016 representing over $330 million. Industrial construction increased 145.5% in 2017 over 2016. 2018 is seeing a continuation of growth in building permits.

Toyota Canada Inc – has plans of constructing their new 350,000 square foot parts Distribution Centre in East Bowmanville once their building permit has been granted. This new distribution centre will employ 150 workers and is aiming for a fall 2019 opening.
Owaso RV – can be seen currently off highway 401 in Bowmanville as construction has already begun. It’s 31,000 square foot RV dealership in the west end of Bowmanville will provide 30 to 40 new jobs.
3D Cana Inc – has already begun construction of its 21,000 square foot facility. The future home of a licensed medical cannabis production facility will be on 685 Lake Road in Bowmanville
